Does this person provide you with sensitive internal information (e.g., org charts, internal politics, budget constraints) that isn't public?
Does this person have the authority and willingness to get you in front of the real sponsor, budget holder, or funding authority?
Does your solution help them achieve a specific personal goal (promotion, bonus, recognition, saving time)?
Can they clearly articulate "Why buy anything?", "Why buy us?", and "Why buy now?" on your behalf?
Have they validated your mission value case and confirmed it will resonate with the funding authority or senior sponsor?
If you asked them to help shape the programme, support the route to market, and defend Rowden internally, did they say yes?
